2012 marks The Urban Group, Inc.’s (TUG) 28th year as a housing and community redevelopment consultant firm based in south Florida. TUG’s professional focus is providing real property related support services to public sector clients, non-profit corporations, and private sector companies involved in government financed projects. The firm undertakes work in voluntary and involuntary real estate acquisition, property disposition, right-of-way acquisition, housing development, project management and administration, and property preservation and protection services. Much of TUG’s assignments include projects using federal funding. A focus area of service is managing residential relocation programs when tenants are permanently displaced resulting from a federally funded project. TUG has implemented and managed housing redevelopment projects governed by the policies and practices specified in the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as Amended (URA), and HUD 104(d) relocation programs.
TUG also provides relocation disposition activities in accordance with the Manufactured Home Land Lease Community Landlord Tenant Act, Florida Statutes 723, when mobile home lease lot communities close and residents are required to vacate. TUG is directing HUD guided acquisition and closing facilitation services of bank foreclosed residential properties in federal Neighborhood Stabilization Programs under NSP1 and NSP2 governance. In Florida, TUG is increasing involved in real estate acquisition activities for Community Redevelopment Agency’s (CRA) under authority of Florida Statute 163. The company is a member of the Florida Association of Realtors®, and is active in the Florida Redevelopment Association and the Florida Housing Coalition. Serving as housing consultant project managers, TUG facilitated the construction of 2,133 federally funded housing units in Florida with a total development cost of $127,920,000. Most projects were constructed using HUD funding. The firm has carried out distressed asset disposition services of FHA foreclosed properties in custodial possession of HUD, and for forfeited real estate held by the U.S. Marshals Service.

conjunction with the runway expansion project. Noise mitigation measures
will impact 2074 residents. - Lake Worth, FL Real estate acquisition services to purchase foreclosed and abandoned homes as part of a $ 23 million community revitalization project funded by HUD under the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program. (NSP2).
- City of Sarasota, FL Permanent relocation of 30 tenants displaced in a housing redevelopment project. Replacement housing in compliance with the federal “Uniform Act” and HUD 104 (d) guidelines.
- Habitat for Humanity Relocation services under URA governance for displaced residents to build single-family homes using federal funding.
