Established in 1984, The Urban Group, Inc. (TUG) is an urban redevelopment land acquisition-consulting firm. TUG specializes in providing services to government agencies, non-profit corporations, and private sector clients.  TUG services include real estate consulting, land acquisition, relocation assistance, asset management, property management, and real property brokerage activities in publicly funded projects.  TUG has statewide capabilities to provide services through a network of providers.

Through the years, TUG has developed a broad mix of expertise, knowledge, and experience implementing projects for public sector clients.  We have facilitated land acquisition projects governed by local acquisition policies, as well as policies and practices specified in the “Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as Amended” (URA), and HUD 104(d) programs.  

In contrast to other land acquisition consultants, our diverse staff of professionals has broad based experience in related areas such as: urban planning, finance, real estate development, environmental review and abatement, asset management, property management, real estate appraisal, public involvement programs, community development, and construction. A Florida licensed real estate brokerage, TUG’s staff maintains affiliation in a number of professional and industry organizations including: National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO); Florida Housing Coalition; American Society of Appraisers (ASA); Airport Managers Association; International Right-of-Way Association (IRWA); and Florida Redevelopment Association.
